Code Compliance Official

The City of Sheridan is actively recruiting an adaptable, experienced, and organized individual to fill the position of Code Compliance Official. This position is responsible for performing technical and administrative duties of monitoring and enforcing the adopted City Codes and Ordinances. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic code enforcement principals, practices and methods; excellent communication skills; and a desire to be a supportive team member. The starting range for this position is $26.53 - $27.54 hourly. This is a fully benefited position including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, state pension benefits, paid time off and a wellness program. Community Development Director

The City of Sheridan is actively recruiting a positive, intelligent, and motivated individual with strong communication skills to fill the position of Community Development Director. This position is responsible for administering the City’s Planning and Building Divisions to develop and implement long-range plans, including land use evaluation, establishing and implementing strategic goals, making code change recommendations, and coordinating and overseeing the development review process. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of current planning theory and techniques, zoning and land-use regulation, and growth management practices; excellent public speaking skills; and be very dedicated to the City’s mission of improving quality of life, with emphasis on public safety, exceptional service, livability, and infrastructure, while being accountable and professional. The starting range for this position is $86,071.40 - $90,456.34 annually, depending on experience. This is a fully benefited position including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, state pension benefits, paid time off and a wellness program. Sanitation and Recycling Equipment Operator

The City of Sheridan is actively recruiting a reliable, creative, self motivated individual with strong customer-service skills to fill the position of Sanitation and Recycling Equipment Operator. This position is responsible for performing equipment operation duties in the collection of trash and recyclables. Qualified candidates will possess or be able to obtain a Class B CDL issued by the state of Wyoming within six months of employment. The starting wage for this position is $18.78 hourly. Police Officer

The Sheridan Police Department is recruiting to fill Police Officer positions. Join our team to help make our community a safe, great place to live. This is a fully benefited position including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, full pension retirement after 20 years of service, tuition reimbursement, a wellness program and paid time off. The hiring wage is $25.26 hourly. Candidates must pass a physical fitness test, online examination, an interview and comprehensive background investigation. Utility Maintenance Operator

The City of Sheridan is actively recruiting a reliable, creative, self motivated individual with strong customer-service skills to fill the position of Utility Maintenance Operator. This position is responsible for performing technical duties in the maintenance, repair and operation of the water and wastewater systems. The ideal candidate will have the ability to obtain a Water Distribution I license, and Wastewater Collection I license within one year of employment. The starting wage for this position is $20.73 hourly. This is a fully benefited position including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, state pension benefits, paid time off and a wellness program. Community Forestry Intern

The City of Sheridan is seeking a Community Forestry Intern for the summer of 2023. The Community Forestry Intern will assist the City Arborist and Parks Department in the establishment of a Community Forestry Program, as well as work to promote public education surrounding the City’s natural areas, parks and trees. This position will run through August. Starting wage for this position is $15.00/hourly. Seasonal Parks Positions

Applications are being accepted for seasonal positions in the Parks Department for the City of Sheridan. The areas of focus for these positions will be the Cemetery, Golf Course, Grounds Maintenance and Natural Resources. The season will run from April 15th through September 1st, with flexible start and end dates. Must be at least 16 years of age prior to the start date to operate the necessary equipment for these positions. The starting wage for these positions will be $14.00 hourly.
