GIS Information Systems (GIS)

The City of Sheridan uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to connect information to locations, create maps, and support effective delivery of City services. The GIS Department develops, maintains, and manages geographic
GIS Picdata and provides mapping, analysis, and technical support to help City departments plan projects, manage infrastructure and assets, and make informed decisions.

GIS also plays an important role in the City’s asset and management systems by connecting geographic information with the tools used to inventory, monitor, maintain, and manage City infrastructure and resources. These systems help improve coordination, support day-to-day operations, and provide reliable information for long-term planning.

In addition to serving City departments, the GIS Department provides mapping, geographic data, and related services to contractors, businesses, and members of the public, helping make useful geographic information accessible to the broader community.
