WHERE DO WE PUT SHREDDED PAPER?
If you have a blue curbside recycling bin at your residence and live within the City of Sheridan, place the shredded paper in a bag and into your blue bin. 

County residents, please place the shredded paper into a bag and in the “Office Paper” bin at one of the City drop sites. You may also bring shredded paper directly to the Recycling Center (1114 Kroe Lane / M-F 7:30 A.M. - 4 P.M.)

DO YOU RECYCLE FLOURESCENT LIGHT BULBS?
Yes - they are considered Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and can be disposed of at the City of Sheridan Landfill (83 E. Ridge Road) on Wednesdays by appointment.

DO YOU RECYCLE BATTERIES?
Yes - if they are household batteries they can be placed in a bag and taken to the Scale House Attendant at the City of Sheridan Landfill (83 E. Ridge Road / M-Sat 7:30 A.M. - 5:30 P.M.).

If you have batteries from a car, boat, lawnmower, etc. they are considered Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and can be disposed of on Wednesdays, by appointment, through our HHW program located at the Landfill.

CAN I RECYCLE EGG CARTONS AND CEREAL BOXES?
Yes – both of these items can go into your blue curbside recycling bin, or they can be put into the "cardboard” bins at City drop sites. 

Styrofoam egg cartons cannot be recycled – please place into the trash.

CAN YOU RECYCLE PLASTIC BOTTLE LIDS?
We recommend you take lids off plastic bottles and throw them in the trash, as they are not recyclable. We are only able to recycle the plastic bottle itself.
CAN YOU RECYCLE PACKING PEANUTS?
No – please check with the UPS Store or with Pack ‘n Mail – they may be able to take them for re-use.
CAN STYROFOAM BE RECYCLED?
Styrofoam cannot be placed in your blue curbside recycle bin. Large sheets that come with appliances and electronics can be taken directly to the Recycling Center (1114 Kroe Lane / M-F 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.).


DO YOU TAKE PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS?
We do not accept plastic bags, however if you take them back to the store, they may be able to recycle them. Alternatively, they can go into the trash, but please do not place them into recycling.
 

WHAT KIND OF PLASTICS DO YOU TAKE FOR RECYCLING?
The City of Sheridan recycles plastics #1-7.  We recommend that you remove lids from plastic milk jugs and water/soda bottles and throw them in the regular trash.  Please always rinse items before placing them in recycling bins.
