Recycling & Solid Waste Coordinator

The Recycling subdivision is responsible for reducing the overall amount of material that is disposed through the implementation of innovative waste reduction and recycling services.
Only 30-40 percent of the landfill’s waste is currently being diverted. Of that, only 9 percent is household recyclables, with the rest made up of green waste, scrap metal and concrete. The City has a goal of 50 percent household recycling. Our next step in getting there is implementing a successful curbside recycling program.
As our existing landfill approaches capacity, it is increasingly important that our community reduce, reuse and recycle as much waste as possible.
For your convenience, a number of recycling and green waste dropsites are available throughout the community.
Recycling & Green Waste Dropsites
- 5th & Highland / 1261 Highland Avenue
- Brundage Lane / 165 E. Brundage Lane
Green Waste ONLY Dropsites
- Kendrick Park / South Side (on Swan Street)
- Skate Park - Dan Madia Field Parking Area / 11th Street & Dana Avenue
- Oatts Memorial Park / 7th Street (Sheridan Avenue & Saberton Avenue)
- City Landfill / 83 E. Ridge Road (Monday - Saturday 7:30am - 5:30pm)
CURBSIDE RECYCLING
Single-Stream Curbside Recycling is a program that allows residents to place all acceptable recyclable materials into one blue bin and leave it at your curb for
pickup every other week
. For a list of items that can be disposed of in your curbside recycling bin please click
here
.
Recycling is picked up in the same location as your trash.
Please place trash & recycling bins out by 6 AM.
COMMERCIAL RECYCLING PROGRAM
